Jobs

GENERAL INFORMATION
PDG is interested in reviewing qualified candidate's resumes and portfolios. Each area of employment below has an explanation as to what "qualified" means. If your background, education, or skill level does not match our requirements, please do not apply. Also, be sure to consult the "Submissions" page for details on how to approach us and how and where to send information or materials.

Most tasks are handled by staff with any overflow or specialty needs being outsourced to freelancers. Some areas of employment (like proofreading) are completely outsourced. It is important to understand that creating a book (or publishing a book) requires a different temperament as well as special creative and organizational skills. Editing, illustration, formatting, and design skills that are adequate in general advertising and marketing firms and graphic design studios often fall short in the book publishing arena. Candidates (both staff positions and freelancers), during the review or interview process, will be tested on relevant areas of expertise (editing, layout, design, illustration, etc.).
